Who We Are

Nestled in the Sandhills of the Midwestern United States, Nutro Body Care is founded on a passion for developing affordable, high quality body care products. Our company works with a deep sense of social consciousness and awareness that many hands touch those components of our products. Therefore, we ensure that the origins of our ingredients are produced in areas where responsibility for society and the environment is a priority.

Our location on the planet has a big impact on our approach and our product. The Sandhills were formerly covered by an inland sea that covered much of the United States 60 million years ago. When the continent pushed up, river systems ran down, carrying a thick layer of sand across the plains. After the last glaciers rumbled through about 10,000 years ago, the sand blew into a desert of undulating dunes.

Underlying the Sandhills is the High Plains Aquifer, the primary groundwater source for our rural area. Our water comes from the heart of the earth containing vital minerals for life. There is a belief held by some that this water holds ancient secrets of the earth.

Nutro Body Care LLC is an approved member of both Leaping Bunny, based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and the Personal Care Products Council, based in Washington D.C. Below is more information about these organizations and links for further research.

 

About the Founder

Mary Gentry-Randall, founder and President of Nutro Body Care LLC, combines a background in environmental sciences with a passion for excellence in body care products due to her own life experience.

In 1997, Ms. Gentry Randall was forced to give up her career in environmental planning and public health when she became severely ill with Lyme Disease. Unfortunately, she had been ill since 1993 and was misdiagnosed with various conditions, never receiving proper treatment for that which truly afflicted her body.

She spent many years healing and focusing inward, retrieving great gifts of peace, focus and priority. During this time she worked diligently to regain strength and endurance. In 2002, Mary joined her first exercise program since 1997 -- a water aerobics class she loved, but which posed a problem of severe dry skin. Mary tried every product available, determined to find something that worked for her skin because giving up exercise was not an option. Nothing worked....but she had a little time on her hands.....

This is how our first product, Veggie Body Butter (A four butter better body butter for You!) was created. This product has been used for scars, cracked feet and elbows, sunburns, and is used for overall skin health and nutrition.

Nutro Body Care LLC was formed in the summer of 2003. We have since developed a complete line of professional massage and spa products. We trust you will try our products and receive great benefit from them!
